This is an eye opening class about real gun fighting in the old west and how it really happened. It is not SASS, CMSA, or Fast Draw competitions. Those are sports that subordinate authenticity for winning competitions. Neither is this movie-based mythology.
CURRICULUM: Reality Vs. Myth, History, Carry, Holsters, Stance, Single Hand Fire, Two Hand Fire, Reload, Wounded Weak Hand Fire and Reload, Long Range, Close up, Border Shift, Slapping Leather, Mounted , and more!
PLACE: WS Range 9 am to 4 pm
REQUIRED: Single action six gun, holster, eye and ear protection, hat, 200 rounds.
RECOMMENDED: Authentic gear and attire helps re-enact the gunfight. Pointed boots, curled hats, and buscadero rigs are NOT authentic.
INSTRUCTOR: Jeffrey Prather trained with Phil Spangenberger, and Jim Rogers, was an early CMSA competitor, a firearms advisor on western films to stars such as David Carradine and Buck Taylor, and for decades rides with a six gun.
