a SCTYINSTRCTRBent Arm Restraint – Police/Security Defensive Tactics: Bent Arm Restraint (BAR) uses the suspect’s instinctive reaction to bend his arms inward to facilitate his restraint and cuffing.  The result is a less violent detention/arrest, with more control, while simultaneously providing optimal officer safety.

Curriculum covers defensive tactics, cuffing, arrest, compliance contact-cover strategies, and grappling.

BAR was designed by master trainer Jeffery Prather, A DEA, NRA LEO, AZ DPS CCW and Armed Security Guard certified firearms instructor and 15th degree Bujinkan black belt.  He served with 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), as a DIA Intelligence Officer and as a Special Agent, Primary Firearms Instructor, and Snowcap operator.

He has taught hundreds of classes for FBI, CIA, NSA, DEA, ATF, as well as tens of thousands of Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard.  He publishes regularly in SWAT, TACTICAL DEFENSE and often appears on radio and TV as a subject matter expert on tactics.  His books and DVDs sell in AAFES stores worldwide.
